Sonoco Toronto / Eight O’Clock - Defining standards for an energetic brand destined for growth
Following the development of the Eight O’Clock identity, the client requested a standards manual to better maintain control over brand consistency. The challenge involved the development of a comprehensive manual of design standards under tight budget and deadlines.
As lead designer, all copy and illustrations were produced in order to further establish the visual language, brand experience, brand story, and personality of communication. All authorized, unauthorized, and approved colour usage was outlined within the manual, including the proper integration of secondary graphic elements, typography, and visual language.
The resulting manual was comprehensive, organized, easy to use, and well designed. As a tool for designers and suppliers working with the Eight O’Clock brand, the final manual was developed on budget, on time, and effectively established the brand personality and tone.
